Election of HNA Board & Committee Positions 10/17/2007


The Hollywood Neighborhood Association Board has some odd-year positions open for re-election. Eligibility: You should be over 18 years of age and be a resident, property owner, business licensee, or one representative of a governmental agency, or non-profit organization located within the boundaries of HNA (NE 37th - NE 47th, NE Thompson - I-84. Positions are 2-year terms, unless specified otherwise.

Descriptions of the open positons, from the HNA by-laws:

First Alternate (Chairperson) - The First Alternate shall assist the Chairperson; in the Chairperson’s absence shall function as Chairperson; shall serve as a member of the Publicity Committee.

Secretary - The Secretary shall keep minutes and written records of majority and minority opinions expressed at all meetings; shall be responsible for all correspondence of HNA; shall make records of HNA available for inspection for any proper prupose at a reasonable time and place.

Finance Committee - The Finance Committee shall secure financial support for the HNA, if necessary, as requested by the Board.

Grievance Committee* - The Grievance Committee shall consist of not less than three members elected by the general membership at the General meeting.

Halloween Activities 10/17/2007

Howlween at the Zoo
The Oregon Zoo provides a safe and interesting setting for trick-or-treating. Trick-or-treaters will complete a scavenger hunt leading them to activity stations around the zoo and goodie bags filled with candy and prizes. Prizes will be given out for completed hunts at the zoo’s exit.

Free with regular zoo admission.

Scream at the Beach
Visitors can choose from a variety of terrors: Pirates Brethren of the Black Flag, Nightmares II, Hayden Institute for the Criminally Insane, and Curse of the Voodoo Woman for ages 8 and up, or Black Rose Pirate Ship for ages 4 to 8.

Attractions are $8 each, except Black Rose Pirate Ship, which is $3 and includes a carousel ride. All-attractions passes are available in advance for $20.

FrightTown
